Daily Astro: February 5, 2017 {On Socializing, Playing Or… Working?}

It’s not the best day to be practical and get things done. But it’s a GREAT day to chat, get out and socialize, play, and basically waste the day.

I have to admit, the energies of Gemini are challenging for me, even though I’m dating one.

And yesterday, my Gemini daughter reminded me that it’s okay to buy things I like but don’t necessarily need. That’s wise advice coming from a 15-year-old.

But to Saturn-in-my-6th-house me, a fulfilling day is a deeply productive one. There’s no better feeling than getting in bed at night after a day of doing the work I love, organization, overcoming obstacles, and self-disciplined realism.

However, what does responsibility and accomplishment mean if I don’t balance it with playful, spontaneous, light-hearted fun? I have a feeling that’s what I’m supposed to learn.

So I made a list this morning of all the ways I like to enjoy life, so I can make a point to give them some attention:

  • Learn something helpful
  • Plan a new project
  • Figure out how to be more efficient
  • Organize Something
  • Organize Something Else

The hilarious thing about my list? It’s turns out that work is actually fun for me. Oh well! I might have to wear that badge with pride, while everyone else is out there having a great time. Or maybe I can at least lighten and take some time off. I don’t think the planets are going to allow me to do too much today.

While the Moon’s in Gemini, it squares Neptune which makes it difficult to focus. You might find yourself lost in fantasy, or on anxiety overload with a need for escapism. Release excited energies into dancing or bodily movement to feel better.

Then Jupiter stations retro at 23 degrees Libra. This is a time when false friendships, relationships, business partnerships and political alliances will come into question.

You’ll want to be prepared to let go of habits, activities and perhaps even people who aren’t conducive to your life passion and focus. This message coincides perfectly with today’s tarot card, the 6 of Wands.

As heartbreaking and challenging as it might be to let something go, you’ll awaken to a lighter, more tranquil and blissful you. And people will also respect you more. Stay tuned for more on Jupiter Retrograde in the coming months.

Other Planetary Energies

Saturn trine Uranus: Innovative breakthroughs, and authentic changes especially for your career and social structures come easy now.

Saturn square Chiron: You’ll be pushed to grow up! through taking responsibility, practical self-care, staying objective, and releasing the past. Watch for self-punishing behavior.

Uranus Pluto Square: Breaking down behavior patterns and social structures with righteous anger marks this beautiful energy. But it can also create chaos and anxiety…. Let go of the old and the dead.

Jupiter square Pluto: Facing and overcoming your fears with deep insight is a little easier at this time. Just watch for cynicism, narcissism and dwelling on those fears.
