Tarot 10 of Swords, How To Use Limitations To Your Advantage, intuitivefish.com

Material Hardship or Suffering, Oppression, Karmic Consequences

First, the bad news. The 10 of Swords is about obedience to churches, dogmatic creeds, institutions, corporate establishments, civil laws and authorities, and their suppression of the liberated soul.

It’s also about material necessity and the challenges and burdens we face while living under physical limitations. Your position in the world is also at stake.

Next, the really bad news. The 10 of Swords speaks of cruel, unrelenting and inescapable karmic consequences. Fate comes back to visit in various ways, until it has completed its cycle.

It doesn’t get much worse than the 10 of Swords. You might feel trapped, controlled or to put it bluntly, you just don’t want to be here.

Thankfully, karma goes both ways. If you’ve been working hard and honestly toward a certain goal, you can expect a payoff. If you haven’t invested in your material goals, you can expect undesirable circumstances. But you can always shift that reality.

Tarot 5 of Cups, intuitivefish.com

A Family Situation, Heightened Sensitivity, Mixed Feelings and Experiences

The 5 of Cups sometimes refers to a family situation, or an occurrence that brings both good news and disappointment. An example is receiving an unexpected inheritance after losing a loved one. But this is just one possibility.

As another example, this card could relate to marriage. But this marriage will be both joyous as well as disappointing or frustrating, maybe even bitter.

You might receive some news that results in mixed feelings. You might find yourself in some type of material difficulty or challenge; but at the same time, there’s also something wonderful.

Whatever your specific situation is – whether it’s pleasant or disappointing, and most likely both – someone or something isn’t living up to your expectations.

Material Disillusionment, Material Instability, Changes or Troubles, Estrangement

Do you feel like you don’t really connect with anyone? Not sure where you belong?

Or does the world feel hostile? Not sure who you can trust? Do you feel it’s safer to stay silent than express yourself?

Are material things becoming increasingly boring, lifeless or taxing for you?

Welcome to the 4 of Cups.

Life for you is shifting. As a result of your discontentment or aversion to your external environment, you might experience estrangement with acquaintances and loved ones, or material challenges and difficulties.

But you still have a distant aim or hope somewhere in the future.

Tarot: Page of Cups {How To Flow With Change}

Page of Cups by Gilded Tarot, Paulina Tarot, Tarot Noir and Tarot of the Hidden Realm, intuitivefish.com

Tarot Page of Cups, How To Flow With Change, intuitivefish.com

Changes or Surprises, An Emotional Message, Invitation or Proposal, An Unpredictable Relationship

You might receive a text, message or phone call from the Page of Cups. Or perhaps this person spontaneously shows up in your life.

Their message might make you feel pretty good. It might be filled with love or just plain ol’ good news. Or someone amiable might send you an invitation, or even ask you to marry them.

It might be a friendly or light-hearted message, or maybe it’s intellectually entertaining. Or all of the above. There’s no doubt you’re hooked, but you’re not sure what to do about it.

Unfortunately, this Page falls out of affection just as easily as they fall into it. But all is not lost. There might be a happy or not so happy ending. It’s not time to know that just yet.

But we do know that this message or messenger showed up in your life to help you learn how to let go of expectations and flow with unexpected changes.

Tarot: The Lovers {How To Follow Your Instincts}

The Lovers by Steampunk Tarot's Charissa Drengsen, The Zombie Tarot, [Unknown Artist - Please contact me if you know the name of this deck] and Chris Ovdiyenko, intuitivefish.com

The Lovers, How To Follow Your Instincts, intuitivefish.com

Sensuousness, Physical Feelings, Human Love, Intuition

The Lovers is one of those cards that has mostly strayed from its original intent.

This most beloved card has to do with love, but the concept of love itself has also been distorted from its origins.

The truth is that love can make us feel pretty good. But it can also make us feel horrific, and all kinds of other things. Its unfavorable implications usually get left out when we think of love. But the emotion of passion wouldn’t be what it is without the whole spectrum.

At some point long ago, love was understood to be the energy force behind all that we think, say or do. It’s the ability to feel. It’s also the guide that guides us, telling us which decisions to make, based on whether something leads to pleasure or misery.

In fact, love is the vibrational frequency of all that is, and leads to both gratification and pain, health and sickness. For none can be essentially separated. It’s only a matter of degrees.

Tarot 3 of Swords, How To Deal With Problems, intuitivefish.com

Oppression, Suffering, Undesirable News, Distance Or Separation

When the 3 of Swords appears in a reading, something is causing mental anguish, misery, or pain. There’s some kind of torment or suffering, most often occurring in the mind.

This affliction might be triggered on account of some unwanted news. There may be a removal of something, an absence of someone, or a delay in obtaining one’s hopes or dreams.

Perhaps someone is feeling distanced from someone they love. The 3 of Swords relates to a breach or a fractured relationship, creating some degree of distress for all parties involved. The separation doesn’t resolve anything, but only delays any possible resolutions, or a worse split down the line.

Whatever the perceivable cause, cynicism is likely at work in this situation, as well as hopelessness, and a subconscious belief that things are going to turn out badly.

Tarot: Knight of Swords {How To Resolve Conflict}

Knight of Swords from Shadowscapes, The Ghost Tarot, The Darkness of Light Tarot, and Lotus Tarot, intuitivefish.com

TarotKnightofSwordsIntuitiveFish

Distress Due To Past Traumas, Family Problems, Avenging Wrongs

The idea of the Knight of Swords is the festering of an old wound and retaliating because of it.

Battle or war is a key term with the Knight of Swords. He’s your typical military personnel – someone who is paid by the military-industrial complex in some form or another. Or someone who likes to carry his guns around. This warrior lives by the sword, but he’s under the command of another force – a hidden force.

This masculine energy is overly ideal, intellectual and hyper-logical. He finds himself in a non-productive state of smoldering irritation toward others, projecting his inner pain outwardly. But a fulfilling life requires us to accept and learn from our natural emotions, rather than hide them behind clever wit.

Here we have a symbiotic relationship between inner pain and external conflict. Patriarchal oppression {which suppresses intuitive and emotional feminine energies}, ancient wrongs, painful family memories, trauma from the past including past lives…. If not faced and dealt with, internalized pain can result in, or at least feel like physical pain.

Either way, unresolved emotional suffering creates a tendency toward inactivity, triviality, vengeance and possibly even war.

Tarot: Death {How To Conquer Death}

Death by Thoth Tarot, Steampunk Tarot, Wildwood Tarot and Ananda Tarot, intuitivefish.com

Tarot's Death Card, How To Conquer Death, intuitivefish.com

Impermanence, Corruption, End, Giving Birth To A New Idea Or Creation

When we think of death, we commonly forget the new birth that inevitably goes along with it. Death in one realm means the beginning of life in another.

Energy consciousness cannot die. But we collectively express ourselves through ever-changing experiences formed from a defined set of parameters, also known as our thoughts, or awareness.

We assume that transformation involves a painful death of some kind. But not always. Sometimes it evokes a beautiful, smooth and welcoming transition from one state or perspective to another. In a sense, we die every night at the end of a day, only to wake up brand new in the morning.

We experience all kinds of deaths throughout our lifetimes. Death isn’t a foreign concept but a healthy, natural experience.

Some traditional meanings of Tarot’s Death card define death as fertility, or the perpetual creation of material form which is born from thought.

Could this mean that focusing on the beauty of the new makes letting go of the old equally beautiful? Or maybe there’s no such thing as actual loss – only changing experiences.

Tarot: The Fool {How To Let Go}

The Fool by Shadowscapes, The Wild Unknown, Mary-el Tarot and Linestrider, intuitivefish.com

Tarot The Fool, intuitivefish.com

Carefree and Childlike, Authenticity, Inevitability

Remember back when you were a wee thing and you didn’t know how to walk, talk or feed yourself? You weren’t sure which way your arms were going to swing or which sounds would protrude from your vocal chords?

Those were the good ol’ days, weren’t they? As long as you had a caretaker, you didn’t have to worry about money, the in-laws and political elections. You could just be yourself, a baby.

This is the primary message of The Fool. The message is that the collective reality is out of your control. Whatever is going to happen, good or bad, is going to happen. And there isn’t much you can do about it.

So you might as well let go of perceptions of control and flow with the universe. This is the best way to make soul-inspired, authentic decisions anyway.
