Intimacy, Magnetic Attraction, The Silent But Powerful Force of Refined Excellence

It’s intriguing to study and discover major differences between early tarot meanings and modern day definitions.

In the case of the 2 of Swords, commonly defined as “indecision, blocked emotions or friendship” we find the exact opposite in its esoteric origins {although it applies to the card reversed.}

The Taurus influence on the 2 of Swords is strong on the Venusian element, which is where we get magnetic attraction of the sexes, according to A.E. Thierens.

That attraction might be hidden, dormant or silent; nevertheless, it still pulls us toward (or back to) our inherent human essence of raw, honest intimacy – something many of us have lost or rejected in our illusional state of duality and separation.

But this powerful magnetism toward intimacy isn’t just a force that draws us to any kind of sex or intimate affection. It’s also an attraction toward creative quality and excellence. This is why Thierens also associates this card with having a refined appreciation for art.

It reminds me of our original existential nature to co-create Epicurean life enjoyment, classical styles and cultures, which thereby evolves human greatness.

But it isn’t a matter of developing or enforcing that deep and meaningful attraction; it’s simply a matter of remembering who we are – powerful co-creators of the magnificent universe.

Tarot: 3 of Pentacles {How To Be A Master Of Your Craft}

Tarot 3 of Pentacles, How To Be A Master Of Your Craft, intuitivefish.com

Craft, Artisanship, Expertise, Marriage

The 3 of Pentacles is all about doing the kind of work that fits you, and enjoying relationships of the same.

It’s interesting to see so many people involved in a relationship or career that doesn’t challenge them or bring out their best. But this is what a relationship or an occupation is for: to express one’s self in the world.

When the position is right for the person, the result is creative expertise and high-quality effects and products which make the world a better place for everyone.

Aristocracy used to imply “persons skilled in their craft or their position” before the disproportionate concentration of wealth created an overpowering elite class. Certain social privileges at the expense of the not-so-lucky creates much of the animosity and hostility seen around the globe.

But when workers are doing the creative work they’re skilled in, satisfaction in life tends to multiply, and so do the quality of relationships. Profit and benefits is the primary message of the 3 of Pentacles – a good omen all the way around.

Tarot: The Star {How To Experience Love, Beauty, Art and Wealth}

The Star by Sepia Stains Tarot, Thoth, The Steampunk Tarot and Labyrinth Tarot, intutivefish.com

Tarot The Star, intuitivefish.com

Eternal Love, Beauty, Art, and Wealth Reflected In The Physical Realm

Everyone wants to experience love, beauty, art, tranquility, wealth and eternal youth. We intuitively know these existential aspects are inherent to our being. These experiences are what The Star – a personification of  Venus – represents.

So why don’t we experience them?

We lose touch with who we are and what we deserve when our body and soul are out of harmony.

When we falsely believe that love, beauty and wealth are sourced from the physical realm – the outer being a reflection of the inner – we leave the soul out of the equation.

But when we cooperate with the intuition and insight of the inner self, we naturally vibrate, create and organize exquisite art and luxury in the physical realm, or wherever we are.

Tarot: 3 of Wands {How To Focus On Your Passion}

3 of Wands by Tarot of the Tattoo Age, Nicoletta Ceccoli Tarot, The Wild Unknown and Steampunk Tarot, intuitivefish.com

Tarot 3 of Wands, How to Focus On Your Passion, intuitivefish.com

Messaging, Empty Chatter, Distractions

Messaging – sending and receiving messages – is the main theme of the the 3 of Wands. Ancient systems of communication are still relevant today, and even more so with the luxury of advancing technology.

The only problem? With all of those emails and chat messages, it’s easy to get distracted from your life passion.

Much of our conversations revolve around unimportant subjects. How much of our energy is robbed by sitting around talking to girlfriends about the current fashion fad or celebrity icon? Or endless discussions on the marriages and divorces of acquaintances? Or the stock market, price of real estate or the latest movie, video game or technology gadget? Unless these topics directly relate to your life purpose, they turn into wasted energy.

The 3 of Wands is a reminder that there’s much in your surroundings – good things even, including the kindest and most helpful of friends or loved ones – that can thwart you from your life path and soul mission.

When this short, passing lifetime is over, you’ll wish you used this privileged opportunity as a human to contribute your highest, unique potential to the world.

Condense your focus, and distractions lose their appeal and fall by the wayside.

Most human problems come down to being stuck in life.

Whether we’re stuck in confusion, self-doubt, anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, addiction, mental illness, chronic illness, poverty consciousness, a job we don’t love, relationship dilemmas, or just plain, old-fashioned unhappiness.

Any of these indicate we have an unconscious block. Blocks are a result of hidden fear trauma we don’t realize we have. Fear traumas can develop from anything such as abuse, the loss of a loved one, or just falling down and skinning up our knee as a child.

Tarot: 5 of Pentacles {How To Expand Your Horizons}

5 of Pentacles by Thoth Tarot, Amy Zerner, Artist Unknown, and Artist Unknown [If you know the name of this artist please contact me], intuitivefish.com

Tarot 5 of Pentacles, intuitivefish.com

The Emanation of Love, Expanding Horizons, Travel or Emigration

Somehow, the 5 of Pentacles migrated away from its original meaning over the years.

It’s commonly interpreted as “ruin” or “left out in the cold.” While material problems are certainly one interpretation, there’s far more hope in this card.

It is, in fact, the solution to getting out of material dilemmas, or in other words, changing poverty consciousness.

The 5 of Pentacles is foremost about expressing love and passion. It implies expansion, or broadening your horizons.

To break the cycle of lack in finances, love, health or any life area, there must be an expansion of consciousness. Instead of hoarding in greed or self-protection, you must embrace an attitude of abundant generosity, even if you have very little or nothing to give.

You must give out, if you also want to receive.

Expanding yourself could mean anything from traveling overseas with a friend or partner, or moving to a larger or newer home, even when you’re not sure how you’re going to pay for expenses.

This requires a difficult step of faith. The world will criticize your irresponsibility. But a genuine, tangible action filled with excitement and passion lets the universe know you’re serious about changing your limiting circumstances. The universe will meet you half way, and match the amount you put in.

Tarot: 6 of Cups {How To Enjoy A Simple Life}

6 of Cups by Phantomwise Tarot, Dali Universal Tarot, Stella's Tarot and Thoth Tarot, intuitivefish.com

Tarot 6 of Cups, intuitivefish.com

Appreciation For Art, Beauty and Above All, Nature; Living A Simple, Country Life; Memories of the Past or Future

It’s time to get back to the childlike joy of the simple life – enjoying fine, natural pleasures.

In order to experience the beauty of life, connect with your own beauty and bliss. Fortunately, we all possess inner bliss, but we’re not always consciously connected to it.

When you accept your inner riches of creativity and sensuality, your external reality begins to reflect the same.

The 6 of Cups is all about enjoying nature, rustic pleasures and natural luxury in the form of art, music, film, good food and good company. A visit to an elegant cafe, wine bar and the art gallery might be in order. Or maybe you’re being called to live in a cabin in the woods with a claw-foot bathtub and wood-burning stove….

Sometimes it’s easy to forget that enjoying life and nature is what we’re here for, especially when we’re surrounded by cement buildings, factories, artificial food and people, and the excruciating challenges they present.

Haunting memories or mere fantasies can also rob of us our inner well-being. Instead of longing for something of the past or in the future, you can be present wherever you find yourself, noticing the simple beauty and ease of life therein. Presence is the code for eternal bliss.
